Launch of DVB-T in Luxembourg April 4th, 2006 - Channel 24 (National coverage): you will be able to view without any encryption, the Belgium programmes of RTL TVI, Club RTL, Plug TV and the Dutch channels RTL4, RTL5 and RTL7. These programmes will be broadcast in the MPEG-2 standard - In order to be able to view those new channels, you have to provide yourself with a set-top box (market price between 60 and 120 euro) or a small USB receiver. An equipment list is available on the following link: http://www.ueberall-tv.de/ and http://www.tvnt.net/V2/sr/176/index.php. - More than the significant quality improvement of the picture, this technology will permit a portable reception (reception in the public transport; bus/train/car, in the garden…) - With the transfer to the channel 24, the analogue broadcast of RTL TVI will be stopped, as well as the one of the channel 49 (RTL4) and the channel 21-North (RTL5). - At the same time, we also plan to start the digital broadcast of RTL Télé Letzëbuerg on the channel 7 in MPEG-2, for a 6 month time period. This will allow the cablo-operators and anyone with a direct home reception to prepare smoothly the transition. - Thanks to this transition, a multitude of Luxembourgish programmes will be broadcast from the channel 27 (such as TTV, DOK, La chambre, Télé Lëtzebuerg 2, Uelzechtkanal, Nordliicht, aso…) - Last but not least, we actually are investigating the feasibility to broadcast in MPEG-4 a Luxembourgish multiplex. Ces programmes seront diffusés en norme MPEG-2 - Avec acquisition d’une set-top box (prix du marché entre 60 et 120€), tout le monde sera en mesure de capter ces chaînes. La liste des équipements homologués se trouve sur les liens suivants: http://www.ueberall-tv.de/ et http://www.tvnt.net/V2/sr/176/index.php. - En plus de l'amélioration significative de la qualité d'image, cette technologie permettra une réception dite "nomade", c.à.d réception dans les transports publics – bus/train/voiture, au jardin, etc.… - Avec le basculement du canal 24, la diffusion en analogique de RTL TVI sera arrêté, de même que le canal 49 (RTL4) et le canal 21 Nord (RTL 5). - A cette même date, est également prévu le démarrage de la diffusion en numérique de Télé Lëtzebuerg sur le canal 7 en norme MPEG-2 et ce, pour une période transitoire de minimum 6 mois. Ceci permettra aux cablo-opérateurs et aux personnes avec une réception directe de préparer plus facilement la transition vers la réception numérique du Canal 27. - A la suite de ce basculement, une multitude de programmes luxembourgeois pourra être diffusé à partir du canal 27 (tels que TTV, DOK, La chambre, Télé Lëtzebuerg 2, Uelzechtkanal, Nordliicht, etc.….) - Enfin, pour une meilleur qualité, nous étudions actuellement la faisabilité d’une diffusion du multiplex luxembourgeois en MPEG-4, une nouvelle norme qui permet entre autre la diffusion de programmes HD à l'avenir. - Pour toute question à ce sujet n'hésitez pas à contacter Mr. E.
