The digitization process is the entry point to best of breed playout of your programs. We convert video elements into digital files which can be electronically processed.
BCE runs a fully automated mass-digitization platform, with a current capacity of 50.000 hours of programs per year, easily expandable to even more. Since 2001, more than 100.000 hours of programmes have already been processed in our facility.
The workflow is straightforward and secure:
- ingest of bar-coded tapes (Beta Digi, Beta SX, Beta SP, DV Cam, DVC Pro,...)
- generation of broadcast quality files (MPEG-2 - 4:2:2 from 15 to 50 Mbits/sec long GOP or I.Frame)
- quality control checks by highly experienced technicians
- transfer to the central storage archive
On demand, BCE can provide additional services such as critical start-to-end quality control of the ingested tapes, advertisement breaks insertion, re-processing and bar-coding of tapes. BCE can also safeguard your analog vintage media in its secure and environmentally clean warehouses.
On the other hand, should your files be distributed on the Internet or used for Video-On-Demand applications, our digital media logistics service is the solution for you. We can transcode any material into low-bitrate formats (Windows Media, RealPlayer, MPEG-4, MPEG-1, etc.) and send files onto your dedicated server or to an Akamaï distribution service for instance.
All over the world, vintage shows, films and programmes are being restored and transformed into value added content for distribution by broadcasters, netcasting, DVD collections, etc...All media owners, from television to distributors, from institutions to private companies can benefit from our digital media services.
As an example, BCE has set up a complete digitization and archiving system for Luxemburg's National Archive Centre, where 15.000 hours of video have been made available for easy consultation.
