For the improvement of RTL Lëtzebuerg in Luxembourg, our engineers had little time to launch and operate their tapeless news system. For the creation of RTL Televizija in Croatia, a completely new channel, the team was moved on place in order to create from scratch this state-of-the-art infrastructure. BCE also works for companies that are not necessarily in the media business, for instance in 2007 the engineering and consulting team created the multimedia infrastructure of ArcelorMittal’s university, installed the archiving and digitization platform for the Centre National de l’Audiovisuel in Luxembourg and worked on the multimedia and conference rooms for the European Investment Bank in 2008.
More than working on projects using the existing technology, BCE also created new solutions to improve companies’ workflows. The special projects and development team created the first worldwide tapeless distribution system, using high speed internet transfer for content distribution. It is already used by 20th Century Fox, Sony, CBS, NBC Universal, Bertelsmann, FremantleMedia etc… The team also created Newslink, linking journalists with their newsroom bypassing high cost satellite uplinks. Recently they released D.Playout a cost effective playout server for thematic channels and/or channels recovery system.
