Since 1992, Natura 2000 is the name given by the European Union for the European network of ecological sites. The construction of this network is based on European directives. The target of Natura 2000 is to preserve biodiversity as well as to restore the value of the natural heritage of our territories.
For the Natura 2000 Expo (held in Luxembourg from 12th to 20th October 2013), the foundation “Hëllef fir d’Natur” asked BCE (Broadcasting Center Europe) to produce video clips which illustrate Luxembourg’s protected zones.
BCE will also install digital signage screens in the main corridor of the Expo, playing mainly the video clips. Five screens will concentrate on different biodiversity elements, give information on Natura 2000 zones and invite the visitors to enter the Expo contest.
“Working with the foundation natur&ëmwelt – Fondation Hëllef fir d’Natur for Natura 2000 has been a great experience. The digital signage is used wisely, concentrating on content with interesting videos, elements of information and interactivity with the visitors through the contest”, comments Xavier Thillen, Head of Production at BCE.
“Natur&ëmwelt Fondation Hëllef fir d’Natur works with its stakeholders since 1982 for the protection of biodiversity, one of the priorities for sustainability. Our foundation owns more than 1100 ha nature reserves in Luxembourg. BCE is a professional company in the audiovisual field and we asked their team to help us to communicate to the public in Luxexpo about the beauty of nature. People should be informed and strive to protect nature for future generations. That’s why we decided to show movies of NATURA 2000 areas in Luxembourg. Based on their invaluable assistance, we are proud to recommend their services. The whole team is flexible, cooperative and is really professional, with great know-how. A lot of thanks to BCE for supporting our Foundation”, said Claude Meisch, President of natur&ëmwelt – Fondation Hëllef fir d’Natur.
