Successful Launch of BCE’s Media-as-a-Service at IBC 2023

BCE, a leading media technology and services company, proudly announces the successful launch of its revolutionary Media-as-a-Service platform at IBC 2023. This milestone marks a significant step forward in BCE’s commitment to providing customers with easy, flexible, and expert-driven media solutions.

At IBC 2023, BCE unveiled the Media-as-a-Service offering, showcasing its dedication to understanding customer needs and staying attuned to market demands. The platform features two groundbreaking modules: Holovox, a remote voice-over solution, and Sport Buff, a fan engagement and gamification tool seamlessly integrated with Holovox.

Media-as-a-Service is set to revolutionize how customers access BCE’s portfolio by enabling them to create customized solutions tailored to their specific project requirements. This approach is designed to offer unparalleled flexibility and efficiency to BCE’s valued customers.

Holovox, one of the platform’s flagship modules, has already demonstrated its effectiveness in various events, including sports competitions, conferences, and more. It allows users to seamlessly incorporate voice-over streams, live translations, and sign language support into their broadcasts from anywhere with an internet connection, eliminating the need for expensive hardware and enabling sportscasters to serve multiple events without location constraints.

Sport Buff, integrated with Holovox, offers real-time gamification and audience monetization. It transforms live broadcasts into interactive experiences, engaging fans with games, competitions, and prizes. This innovative tool also creates new advertising opportunities and fosters deeper audience engagement.

During IBC 2023, BCE’s team presented live demonstrations of Holovox and Sport Buff, showcasing the platform’s capabilities. Victorien Loiseau and Dominic Wroe Wright conducted dynamic demos, highlighting how Holovox enhances voice-over production and viewer engagement.

In addition to showcasing its modules, BCE’s engineers presented their latest projects in System Integration, including the development of an OB Vans for France Television.

Martin Boronski, Chief Technology Officer at BCE, participated in a panel hosted by AWS, discussing “Driving business transition through migration to the cloud” Martin emphasized the importance of a product-oriented approach and the role of the Media-as-a-Service platform in accelerating BCE’s strategy.

Frédéric Fiévez, Chief Sales Officer at BCE, participated in the Future Media Hubs and European Broadcasting Union (EBU) panel, where he explored BCE’s groundbreaking approach with Media-as-a-Service. He emphasized the platform’s customer-centric evolution based on continuous feedback and demands.

The weekend of the IBC marked the starting point for the coverage of the French basketball season with Holovox, the first module of BCE’s Media-as-a-Service. Since September 16th, our customers have already incorporated voiceovers into 45 games. Their partnership with BCE is set to continue until May 2024. During this time, they will enhance the viewer experience in more than 400 games.

The IBC 2023 concluded with an evening dedicated to BCE’s valued customers and Enex, during which our guests had the opportunity to discover our cutting-edge Media-as-a-Service offering. We showcased how our solutions have enabled our client, Enex, to efficiently gather and distribute news on a global scale. The event was marked by a vibrant atmosphere of interaction, exchange, and networking, with our talented DJ setting the perfect mood.
